We are now taking sign ups for the 2008 World XCM Tournament. The Tournament will start on 1 July 2008.
Please post up one time if you want to sign up for the tourney. Please post up questions in a separate thread. You will need to put together an intro video showing your face in the near future.
Common question and answers:
*Who can sign up? - Anyone. Banned members/haterz need not apply
* Is there an age limit? - No.
* How does it work? You submit videos once a month and battle against one other person at a time. This is a double elimination tournament.
* I do magic/flourishes/cardistry(card magic), can I enter? Yes, however XCM categories are much more broad than flourishes or card magic(cardistry). Flourishers usually don't get far in the HL tournament because they aren't well versed in the artform of XCM. Contrary to magician's beliefs, flourishes and XCM is not the same thing as you'll find out if you enter the tourney without any XCM knowledge. HL started XCM and the many categories with-in such as elementals, SSSs, perching, openers, closers and so on. Those that train and learn from our experts do much more than you'll ever see on the magic side which is mostly very limited to fans, 2-handed cuts, 1 handed cuts and basic aerials - meaning that you won't get too far with just "flourishes". You'll need all the XCM specific category skills for this particular tournament. We recommend that you study and learn from the HL experts in the large scope of XCM as we created it - as a whole as so many of the world's best card artists have. This is a MUST if you even think about entering the tournament. This will only benefit you, as those that have learned from HL are the most well versed, skilled and respected card artists on the planet. Take a look at last year's videos and rounds to get a feel for what you are about to enter before entering. The first few rounds are usually designed to weed out those that only do 2-handed cuts and flourishes/card magic(cardistry) by using XCM categories right from the start. Flourishers with no XCM knowledge always get knocked out within the first couple of rounds.

* Can I miss a month? You must submit something each month to remain in the tournament. It can be just blank titles if you are busy, and you can hope for a bye or that you oppenent submits nothing, but you must submit something. You will usually have plenty of time to submit videos.
* What's the benefit from entering? - You will grow as an artist by leaps and bounds! The HL tournament is designed to push you foward. EVERYONE who has entered has greatly benefited from the experience! Also there will be over $1000.00 in prizes, and of course the giant Superhandz Trophy, and "XCM World Champion" title. Of course your videos will also be seen from around the world!
Also for the first time ever De'vo will release only to the winner one of his underground DVDs - Motions, Black Ring, Gheist, or another special DVD with moves that have not ever been made public.
