the banners give less sense of crowding with the extra space, but if possible I would still offset them to the right-most of the screen instead of dead center, so they don't dominate the page as much.

The lines in between the banner still cause too much of a page breakage and still give too much of a box impression, even though there is dead space around it. The significant space between the banners will offset them enough to make a clear distinction without the lines in between.


I like the new buttons, they look nice, but the old ones POPPED more when viewing the page. These are shaded to give an impression of 3d, yes? I would use the buttons but still give the old silver contrast background. The silver contrast, which you can of course see by going to another page, really offset those buttons and drew attention to their presence. The current black buttons either need a contrast or a sharper 3d shading to make it obvious to a first time viewer that they are for navigation. And over-3ding the buttons would be cheesy looking. Is it possible to make the buttons slightly smaller and bring back the old silver backing? The rectangular buttons will leave far less silver in view, and this will be good. That way the silver is a highlight and isn't contesting the black, but instead frames it. I'm reeeeaaaallly bad with paint or photoshop but I'll try and post a picture.

Also, I miss the ribbon spread in the pro XCM logo.



Another thing that makes the banners overpower the rest of the site is that the banners text is bigger, and this makes it stand out more than the rest of the site.




BTW I'm a food critic at home and am not very good with the graphics end, which is why I run beta testing in the tyranids website instead.
